Since 2002, Decatur Martial Arts Academy has been providing instruction in Traditional Korean Martial Arts in the Decatur, GA area.
We hope you enjoy our website and will stop by and visit us if you are in the area. This site is designed to give you information about our facility, our style of martial arts, our staff and provide you with information on how to contact us as well.
WHAT IS HAPKIDO?
Hapkido is a dynamic martial art of Korean origin. It's name literally means 'the art of coordinated power". Hapkido is a hybrid martial art that blends striking and kicking techniques similar to Taekwondo with throws, takedowns and extensive joint locking techniques. Weapons such as the staff, sword, short stick and cane are learned at higher levels.
In addition to learning effective self defense, Hapkido training provides the student with the means to improve their physical fitness, awareness, flexibility and self confidence.
Decatur Martial Arts Academy is certified and recognized by the World Kido Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association.
